Tenleytown is centered on Tenley Circle, where Wisconsin Avenue, Nebraska Avenue and Yuma Street meet, and it sits on the highest ground in the city. It mixes old frame houses and newer apartment buildings with a busy stretch of Wisconsin Avenue shops, the Metro and the radio towers you can see from all over town. Trying to find a dispensary near me that delivers here? We're only about 4 miles east.
Green Life DC Weed Dispensary And Marijuana Cannabis Delivery is a licensed dispensary at 7329 Georgia Ave NW. Around 1790, people started calling this crossroads "Tennally's Town" after John Tennally, who ran a tavern here, and the name slowly became Tenleytown. During the Civil War, Fort Reno was built on the high ground, and in July 1864 its lookouts spotted Confederate troops moving near Rockville, helping push the attack east toward Fort Stevens. After the war, a Black community called Reno grew up on the hill until it was cleared in the 1920s for a park, a school and a water tower. Sears opened a big store on Wisconsin Avenue in 1941, and the Top of the Town heritage trail has told these stories since 2010.
